Superior Woodcraft Supports Local Artisan - Susan Williamson
The craftsmen at Superior Woodcraft enjoy supporting fellow artisans, especially local artisans who also support Superior Woodcraft. One such artisan is Susan Williamson, PWCS.
Susan Williamson works in pastel and watercolor and divides her time between a home in Lower Gwynedd, PA and a cottage in Paradox Lake, NY. She has studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and Temple University.
Susan is a juried member of Women Artists of the West, Pastel Society of America, Landscape Artists International , Philadelphia Water Color Society, and the American Society of Bovine Painters. She is a Signature member of the Philadelphia Water Color Society and served on its board of directors from 2004-2006.
Susan's paintings are in collections across the country and have been accepted into shows such as the Pastel Society of America Show, International Association of Pastel Societies Shows, Adirondack Pastel Society, Philadelphia Water Color Society International Exhibition, Phillips Mill Annual Show, Yellow Springs Art Show, Audubon Society Show, and the Northeast National Exhibition of Pastels. Several of Susan’s paintings can be viewed at Superior Woodcraft.
'Working closely with nature 'en plein air' (on location) when painting landscapes or spending time with beautiful creatures such as cattle and goats, has given me a deeper appreciation for these complex beings. I am consumed with painting cattle and other nonhuman animals as individuals and aspire to portray the character of one sentient creature. I hope my paintings will remind people to make choices that will allow the animals they use to live better lives. The same is true of our decisions that affect the environment”, Susan Williamson.
